“APIIT
quality assurance framework ensures that appropriate and
effective teaching, support, and learning opportunities
are provided to all our students.”
The quality and high standards
of APIIT-Sri Lanka Diploma/ Degree programmes is the outcome
of years of rigorous effort and persistent commitment. APIIT
quality assurance framework comprising regular external audits
by Staffordshire University, UK and APIIT-Malaysia, and internal
quality assurance processes ensures that appropriate and effective
teaching, support, and learning opportunities are provided
to all our students.
Monitoring Process
All international APIIT centres have complementary procedures
and APIIT-Malaysia plays a key role in ensuring comparability
between overseas sites and the main campus in Malaysia. A
primary concern of Staffordshire University is to sustain
comparability of student experience between APIIT centres
and the University.
Staffordshire University and APIIT-Malaysia International
Programme Advisors regularly review the facilities/ resources
and academic operations to achieve these objectives. The International
Programme Advisor from Staffordshire University is primarily
concerned with safeguarding academic standards, ensuring appropriate
quality of student experience, and confirming that University
rules and regulations are adhered to. The APIIT Advisor, on
the other hand, is primarily concerned with ensuring that
APIIT quality processes are followed and that academic management
of the centre is effective.
During these monitoring visits, the international programme
advisors interview students and lecturers, inspect the facilities,
and observe lectures and laboratory classes. A comprehensive
report is prepared and circulated amongst relevant officials.
The management of APIIT-Sri Lanka take prompt and appropriate
steps to implement the recommendations to improve facilities
and procedures and effectiveness of the overall collaboration.
Internal Quality Assurance Unit
APIIT-Sri Lanka has established a Quality Assurance Unit to
coordinate all internal and external quality assurance activities
with a view to ensuring high standards of delivery of all
academic programmes.
