On August 9th, APIIT – Sri Lanka shared its knowledge and resources with the community, opening up a free Career Guidance Programme for the youth aspiring to embark on higher education and careers in the future. As part of the corporate social responsibility drive, APIIT most generously planned this event to enhance the awareness about the education and careers opportunities available for the youth.

The seminars were conducted in English covered the areas such as Higher education opportunities and career opportunities in IT and Business sector and leadership building activity. The initial session focused on creating awareness about the higher education options available in the current market for students who pass out from the school. This session provided inspiring introduction for the students who are eager to persue their higher education in a demanding field of the industry. Sessions done by experienced lecturers on career opportunities available in IT and Business sector presented them with a good understanding of employment trends and resource requirements of corporate in these fields. Finally, the programme was concluded with a leadership building activity that helped participants to bring out their hidden potentials and build up leadership skills within themselves.

This is yet another instant where APIIT contributed its resources to community development to help youth to become competitive professionals in their chosen career fields and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
